Over 2 million people in the UK have attended the world-famous Alpha course for those who want to explore the deeper questions of life. Alpha is an opportunity for anyone who wants to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions.
Our parish is launching it’s next Alpha on Tuesday 20th May, at Holy Trinity church in the town centre, kicking off each session with breakfast before a presentation and discussion. The course leader, our curate Philip Cochrane, is looking forward to it, ‘Alpha provides a ‘Starbucks type’ approach to exploring Christianity – a relaxed and sociable atmosphere where a diverse range of people can talk about the important and not so important issues of life over food and coffee.’
Anyone interested can either turn up on the day or give Philip a call on 01329 318665.
The Alpha course consists of a series of talks looking at topics such as 'Who is Jesus?' and 'Why and how do I pray?' After each talk we divide into small groups for a time of discussion.
Alpha is for everyone, especially:
There is no charge for the Alpha course, although you may make a voluntary contribution towards food.
