Conducting

Conducting is easy isn't it, anyone can do it can't they? Well no, seems. In March I conducted the choir, thanks to Gordon Uphill, the whole congregation knew, that made it even more nerve racking. Conducting is not just a case of waving your arms around; you must get the down beat in the right place and keep a steady beat. You always have to pull the choir along rather than be pulled along. The volume is also up to you as well as the starts and stops. Luckily the anthem was one the choir was familiar with so we all knew what we were doing. Overall it was a great experience, if a little nerve-racking. I would gladly do it again.
