Holy Trinity Floodlighting Sponsorship

In view of the Parish's financial situation some facts for anyone who would like to contribute to the cost of the above in order to celebrate some special event e.g. wedding anniversaries, birth of a child or any other special occasion for which you might like to give thanks. Or, perhaps, on the anniversary of their death, to commemorate someone special in your life.

The floodlighting was installed in the year 2000 as a millennium project and greatly enhances the church on dark evenings, drawing people's eyes to the building as a reminder of God's presence with us.

Members of the congregation held several fund raising events during the period of 1999 to 2000 and raised the sum of £2,876.53.

† The Parish received a grant from the Millennium Commission of £2,839.00 equalling a total cost of £5,715.53 († Church Floodlighting Trust)

An extract from the Church Floodlighting Trust Final Newsletter:

'It is necessary for installations to be kept in good working order and continue to be used since the Millennium Commission contributed to the costs on this basis'.

However the estimated cost of keeping the floodlighting in use is at least £10 per week.

If you would like to participate in this Sponsorship Scheme please complete one of the sponsorship forms at the back of the church and return it, via the Parish office, to the Parish treasurer, Mr James Fullarton, marking the envelope 'Floodlighting Sponsorship'. Alternatively hand the form to one of your churchwardens.

Details of sponsorship will be published in the Parish magazine and the pew leaflet unless participants request otherwise. If there is only a small response to this appeal the duration of the floodlighting each evening could well be reduced.
