Registered Charity 307319
The original Charity was created in the eighteenth century to provide an education for poor children living in the town of Fareham. However, due to the reorganisation of educational facilities in Fareham, after the closure of Price's College, the charity was reformed in 1989 as a grant-making trust and it has as its object the promotion of education amongst persons under the age of 25 years who are resident in the area of benefit.
(see Prices history)
Schools and individuals within the benefit area of the ecclesiastical parishes of St Peter & St Paul, Holy Trinity with St Columba, and St John the Evangelist, all in Fareham.
(Note: this area is that of the Fareham town parishes and not the Borough of Fareham)
Whenever possible applications should be made through the establishment concerned. Application forms are used and can be sent on request. Larger grants are considered by trustees on a six monthly basis, closing dates are 1st March and 1st September. Smaller grants for individual assistance are considered quickly and normally in less than one month.
